Madrugada.
Do lado de fora as cigarras cantam. Do lado de dentro, os cigarros contam, contam os minutos até virarem nada mais que pó. E quando pó viram, ele sente-se só. Fecha as janelas para manter a fumaça, como se fossem sinal de alguma aparição santa ou mágica. Mas a magia só aparece em seus sonhos, que logo viram pesadelos. Que fazem-no virar-se e desvirar-se na cama. E então ele acorda. E então ele repara, que quanto mais as cigarras cantam, mais desencanta-se. O cigarro vira pó. A fumaça escapa por debaixo da porta. E as cigarras perdem a magia, pois morrem de tanto cantar.
